February Clara-isms

Daddy popped some popcorn on the stove and decided to put a glass pie plate on top instead of the lid so that he and Clara could watch. First Clara declared of the popcorn kernals, “They’re eating!” Then she changed her minds and said, “They’re flying! They can’t get out!” Then a little bit later, dripping with sympathy, “Don’t worry, popcorn, we’ll get you out!”

While watching The Who during the Super Bowl half-time show, Clara exclaimed that there were lights, stars, and snow!  Then she started singing, “Who are you…do do do do!”

When Clara’s friend Sophia’s grandpa was coming over to visit, Clara couldn’t stop talking about her Grandpa Rick.  “Where is he?”  Hawaii.  “Why?” ‘Cause its warm there.  “Why?” ‘Cause Hawaii is closer to the equator. “Why?” ‘Cause that’s where it is on the Earth.  “Why?”  I don’t know.  Why do you think?  Long dramatic thinking.  “I love pa.  He’s my best friend.”

Clara has also started to love telling stories.  Here is one: “Once upon a time, I had a nest with two blue eggs and two yellow birds.  I sat on them!”  Cue laughing fit!
