Monsters!

Clara is doing quite well getting around on her gimpy, post-op leg by scooting on her bottom and walking short (usually not more than ten feet) distances, but we are still trying to keep her from exerting herself too much. We tried beading necklaces using real beads last night and it was a disaster. Beads were everywhere except on the necklace. I guess we’ll just have to wait a year or so and try again with that. She loved coloring a wooden puzzle that I got for a dollar at JoAnns and then putting it together. These may make an appearance at her birthday party as favors.

But, these little “monsters” as Clara called them, the idea for which I blatantly stole from our friend Michelle’s art class, were a huge hit. They require no prep work if you already have an art box full of cool stuff and you could make them using anything your heart desired, really. All you have to do is cut up an egg carton and glue things onto each cup to make them look like the monsters of your dreams (or nightmares?). We used feathers, googly eyes, some foam shapes, pompoms, and markers. And of course glue. Lots and lots of glue.

Oh, and because Miss Nancy really wants to make her blogging debut, her’s my new sweet cutie-patootie!

Nice monsters! I like that Grandma Carrita is doing them too, Clara’s look-a-like! Nancy has changed so much in the couple of weeks since I have seen her, I need a Nancy fix!

Grandma’s and Clara’s Monsters are quite cute, can’t wait to see them this afternoon. Nancy is so cute, yes bigger for sure.
